FULLY INVOLVED VEHICLE FIRE AT NYS FAIRGROUNDS

At Approx. 0300 hrs Solvay Fire was dispatched to the scene of a reported vehicle fire at the NYS Fairgrounds. Initial reports stated that the vehicle was only feet away from campers and RVs and was fully engulfed. Engine 22 checked out soon after dispatch and arrived to find the vehicle well involved. Engine 22's crew went to work stretching the 1 3/4" trash line from the front bumper and began to knock down the flames. Within minutes the fire was brought under control and the exposures were no longer in danger. Crews cleared within an hour after arriving. The fire is still under investigation.
