Submerged Vehicle | NYS Fairgrounds | Geddes

At 1810 hours, Solvay Fire Department was dispatched to a vehicle into the NY Water Experience (pond) at the NYS Fairgrounds. Upon arrival a car was found to be submerged in approximately 5-6 feet of water. One person had already made it to shore however due to conflicting reports, another occupant was possibly still inside the vehicle. At that time, the Liverpool Fire Department New York was requested for their water rescue equipment to make entry into the pond and check the vehicle for any other occupants. Upon Liverpool Rescue 1's arrival, shore support was established and a team of two from Liverpool made entry into the water. No further occupants were found. After crews picked up, the scene was turned over to police and all fire department units returned to service.
