Signal 98 | Industrial Dr. | Solvay

At 1753 hours, Solvay Fire was dispatched to a reported fire inside an industrial facility in Solvay. Initial reports stated that a piece of machinery had caught fire and spread to a conveyor belt. Engine 22 arrived and found that the deluge sprinkler system and employees at the facility had been holding the fire in check. The facility produces high volumes of cardboard for boxes which had managed to get jammed and built up under the conveyor belt causing a fire over time.

Engine 22's crew left the sprinkler system running and worked to overhaul and remove the burning debris. Engine 22's crew operated on the scene for approximately two hours before returning to service.
