Commercial Fire | Hopkins Rd. | Liverpool

Around 1600 hours on Monday, Liverpool Fire and mutual aid companies were dispatched to a reported fire at a commercial business on Hopkins Rd. in the Town of Salina. Liverpool Car 1 was first arriving and reported heavy smoke and fire showing from the rear of the building. The initial arriving Moyers Corners Engine 32 and Liverpool Engine 2 arrived quickly, secured a water supply, and began fire suppression.

The fire had started as an exterior fire and spread to the inside of the structure. Upon arrival, Solvay Engine 21 was tasked with moving to the interior and opening walls to check for extension. Due to the extreme heat, additional units were added to the box and brought to the scene to rotate crews out. Engine 21 operated on the scene for close to an hour before returning to service.

After investigation, the fire was deemed to be suspicious. Law enforcement is seeking a person of interest in connection to the fire.
