Signal 99- 100 Block of Charles Ave.- Solvay Fire District. Engine 22, Truck 11, Squad 12, and Squad 21 responded to the call for the house on fire around 0130 hours. Engine 22 arrived with 4 volunteers 1 minute and 45 seconds after dispatch finding smoke showing from side A of a 2 1/2 story dwelling with police yelling that one person was trapped inside. Geddes (WSYR-TV) – Troopers say one person was injured after two roller coaster cars crashed at the New York State Fair on Friday.
State Police believe the injuries are minor.
Initially, officials at the scene indicated that multiple people had suffered injuries.
They say one of the Comet II roller coaster cars stopped, and the other did not.
State Fair officials say the ride will remain closed until inspectors from the Department of Labor can do a full check.
In the afternoon hours, Lakeside, Baldwinsville, and Solvay Rescue 11 (as the R.I.T.) were alerted to the kitchen fire in Lakeside's first due. Rescue 11 arrived second due, was taken off the R.I.T. assignment, and went to work stretching the backup line, sending a crew to the roof, and opening up inside. Lakeside Ladder 1's crew made quick work of the fire. Crews were in service in about 90 minutes.
In the late morning, Engine 12 was alerted of a vehicle on fire on the offramp of I-690 to Rt. 695 SB. Engine 12 arrived to find a small pick-up truck fully involved. Engine 12's crew stretched the front bumper line and immediately knocked the fire down. Engine 12 marked back in service about thirty minutes after arrival.
