At 13:40 hours Solvay units were alerted for an automatic fire alarm at Berry Plastics. Engine 22 and Car 1 arrived 3 minutes later to reports of an active fire. At approximately 0351 on November 23, Taunton, Fairmount, Solvay and Onondaga Hill fire units were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Onondaga Boulevard. Taunton's Chief arrived within minutes and found a single family residence with heavy smoke and fire showing and transmitted a signal 99 – working fire.
