SIGNAL 99: DRISCOLL AVENUE, ONE OCCUPANT REMOVED

At 0740 hrs. Solvay, Taunton Ladder 5, and Fairmount Engine 6 (R.I.T.) were dispatched to a reported fire with people trapped on Driscoll Ave. in the Village of Solvay. Caller was trapped on the second floor of a 2 story wood frame residential house and was reporting a fire on the first floor. Police arrived within seconds finding a working fire and the occupant trapped in a second story window. Solvay Car 2 arrived and gave the fire a Signal 99. Solvay Engine 12 arrived as police had already taken the trapped occupant out of the second story window. Engine 12 went to work stretching an attack line into the structure to extinguish the fire. Occupant was transported to hospital via ambulance. All units operating brought the fire under control within 30 minutes of initial alarm and remained on the scene to begin overhauling the structure. All units were placed back into service at approx 1100 hrs.
