SIGNAL 99 | WORTH AVE | SOLVAY


Around 2300 hours, Solvay Fire was dispatched to Worth Ave for the reports of fire coming from the top floor of a residential dwelling. Solvay Truck 11 responded on dispatch and arrived in the area with a heavy smoke condition. Multiple calls flooded the 911 center as Truck 11 arrived confirming fire showing from Side A of a vacant dwelling.

Solvay Truck 11 obtained their own water supply and stretched a 1.75 inch attack line to the second floor of the 2.5 story vacant structure. As Truck 11 began to knockdown the fire the roof of the fire building collapsed causing command to pull all crews outside of the structure. Truck 11 already in the prime position set-up for exterior operations and the tower ladder went into operation.

Crews from Solvay, Taunton, and Fairmount remained on the scne throughout the night extinguishing the fire. The cause of the fire remains under invesigation.
