SIGNAL 99 | ONONDAGA BLVD. | TAUNTON


At approximately 0351 on November 23, Taunton, Fairmount, Solvay and Onondaga Hill fire units were dispatched to a reported structure fire on Onondaga Boulevard. Taunton's Chief arrived within minutes and found a single family residence with heavy smoke and fire showing and transmitted a signal 99 – working fire. Taunton Ladder 5 was first due and after having established a water supply, stretched an attack and a backup line into the structure and began fire suppression. Solvay Engine 12 was second arriving and went to the roof for ventilation while the rest of the crew assisted in opening up the walls and ceiling for extension. All occupants had exited the structure prior to the arrival of the fire department and were assisted by the Red Cross. Solvay Engine 22 also responded and assited with otherfire ground tasks. Units from Taunton, Solvay, Fairmount, and Onondaga Hill operated on the scene until all units marked back in service around 0800 hrs.
