FATAL SIGNAL 80 ON ROUTE 5

Solvay Rescue 11 and Engine 12 responded late in the night for a reported motor vehicle collision on Route 5 between Rt. 695 and W. Genesee St. Units arrived to find one vehicle in the roadway after hitting the guardrail. Crews went to work and found one occupant in traumatic cardiac arrest. Crews worked with the ambulance in attempts to resusitate the occupant. The occupant was transported to the local trauma center where they were pronounced deceased. Units went back into service after operating on scene for approx. 20-30 minutes.
