MULTI-VEHICLE MVC I-690 LAKESIDE

In the afternoon hours, Lakeside Fire was dispacthed to I-690 in the area of John Glenn Blvd. for a reported Signal 80 (MVC) involving multiple cars. Lakeside's chief responded and while enroute requested Solvay Rescue due to numerous reported signal 80's in the sam area. Solvay Rescue 11 responded and arrived with Lakeside in near whiteout conditions on I-690 WB. 10 vehicles were involved in the collision including an OCSO cruiser. Onyl minor injuries were found however units closed all lanes of I-690 for close to two hours. Units operated in sub-zero temperatures to mitigate the incident. Solvay Units returned to service approx 45 minutes after dispatch.
