VEHICLE FIRE | I-690 EB | GEDDES

In the early afternoon hours, Solvay Fire was dispatched to I-690 EB in the are of the State Route 695 interchange for a reported vehicle fire. Onondaga 911 center advised that they were receiving multiple calls for a fully involved pick up truck on the side of the road. Engine 12 responded with 5 volunteers and quickly arrived to confirm dispatch. Engine 12 stretched the front bumper line and went to work on the truck. Solvay Engine 22 also responded to provide additional blocking on the scene since it was between the merging lanes from 695 NB and I-690 EB. Units returned to service within the hour.
