Late Sunday night, Solvay Fire was alerted to the Lakeside fire district for a reported residential fire. Onondaga 911 center reported multiple calls for the rear of a house on fire in the 100 block of Shetland Pl. Lakeside's fire chief was first arriving and reported heavy fire from the rear of a two story, wood frame, residential structure. Solvay Engine 12 responded in place of Engine 21, which was staffing the NYS fair, with 6 firefighters. Solvay Engine 12's crew arrived and went to work throwing ladders to several windows on the structure. Lakeside and Baldwinsville worked on knocking down the bulk of the fire inside the house. Solvay Engine 12 then worked with suppression crews in opening up the inside of the house and checking for fire extension. The fire was held to the second floor and attic of the home. Solvay Engine 12 returned to service after operating on the scene for approx. 1.5 hours. Solvay Units Operating: Solvay Engine 12, Car 1 (M. Zingaro), and Car 2 (Zoanetti)
