Vehicle Fire | Route 695 SB | Geddes

In the early afternoon hours, Solvay Fire was dispatched to Route 695 SB for multiple reports of a vehicle on fire. Solvay Engine 11 checked enroute shortly after with a crew of five and arrived to find a van with fire spreading to the engine and passenger compartments of the vehicle. Engine 11's crew stretched the bumper line and proceeded to make quick work of the fire. Engine 11 opened up the vehicle and found the fire to be caused from a mattress that was stuck underneath the vehicle and had been dragged for a couple miles. Engine 11's crew returned to service approximately thirty minutes after arrival.
