Signal 98 | Freeman Ave. | Solvay


At 1645 hours, Solvay Fire, Taunton Engine 6, and Fairmount Engine 6 (R.I.T.) were alerted to the 100 block of Freeman Ave. in the Village of Solvay for a reported apartment building on fire. Additional information reported that the front porch of a two story house was on fire. Solvay Car 1 and Engine 11 were first to arrive to find a small fire actively burning in the woodwork of the front porch. With the assistance of Taunton Engine 6, a hoseline was stretched from Engine 11 and the fire was extinguished. The alarm was scaled back to Engine 11 and Taunton Engine 6. Units overhauled and then returned to service within the hour.
