Signal 99 | Myron Rd. | Fairmount

Solvay Engine 11 was added to the Signal 99 assignment for this working residential fire in the Fairmount fire district. Engine 11 responded with 6 firefighters and acted as the R.I.T. company. One victim was found and unfortunately succumbed to their injuries from the fire.

FAIRMOUNT, N.Y. -- A person died this morning in a home fire that broke out on Myron Road in Fairmount, according to Camillus police.

Neighbors called 911 this morning around 8:20 a.m. regarding the flames at the home, which is near the intersection of Myron Road and Sunnybrook Drive.

Police and Fairmount Fire Department officials at the scene would not provide further information about the fire, saying it was an open investigation. The victim's name or other details were also not released.

One firefighter sustained minor injuries in the blaze, said Fairmount Fire Deputy Chief Jake Carlson. The firefighter was treated on scene.

Camillus police and the Onondaga County Fire Investigation Unit are working together to determine the cause of the blaze and whether there was any foul play.
