2013-2014 BUNK-IN CLASS TRAINING

Solvay Fire welcomes back bunk-in firefighter/EMTs Christopher Schultz and Kyle Halm, along with first year bunk-in Tyler Spellman. This past week Schultz, Halm, and Spellman along with bunk-ins from around the county went through the rigorous one week training to acclimate the bunk-in firefighters with how Onondaga County fire service operates. The week included Communications, assisting the ambulance, engine company operations, ventilation, forcible entry, ladders, vehicle extrication and stabilization, as well as live fire training. The training week was originally started three years ago with only Taunton and Solvay but has grown to include Fairmount, East Syracuse, DeWitt, Baldwinsville, South Onondaga, Liverpool, and Fayetteville
