First Due Signal 99 | Wycliffe Rd

At 0246 this morning, Solvay Fire, Taunton Engine 6, and Fairmount Truck 1 were alerted to a possible residential fire in the 100 block of Wycliffe Rd. in the Village of Solvay. Solvay and mutual aid units arrived to find a single family dwelling with fire showing which then upgraded the incident to a Signal 99 (working fire). Crews initially began to make an aggressive interior fire attack due to reports of a person still possibly inside which were found to be negative. Due to the structural integrity, stairs burnt through, and multiple holes in the floor, units were eventually ordered to evacuate. Crews remained on the scene until approximately 0700 hours working on overhaul and mopping up hot spots. Thank you to the multiple mutual aid agencies that assisted on scene and provided coverage at our station during the incident.
