SIGNAL 80 | W. GENESEE ST. | ONE EXTRICATED

Tuesday evening, while Solvay Volunteers were training on the newly delivered SCBA's, Solvay Rescue was dispatched to a Signal 80 with injuries. Engine 12 and Rescue 11 responded and arrived to find one commercial van into a light pole in the parking lot at Wegman's. Rescue 11 went to work stabilizing the vehicle then popping the side cargo doors to gain access to an occupant. Engine 12 secured vehicle hazards and assisted the Rescue. Rescue 11's crew then packaged an occupant for the ambulance for transport. Occupant was extricated in five minutes. Crews cleared the scene in twenty minutes.
