Chimney Fire | Benham Ave. | Geddes

At 1703 hours, Solvay Fire was dispatched to a reported chimney fire on Benham Ave. in the Town of Geddes. Engine 22 arrived soon after finding a abnormal amount of smoke coming from the chimney. Engine 22's crew split into an inside and outside team and found that debris had built up inside the the chimney and caught fire, this was also not allowingthe chimney to function properly. Engine 22's crew then made there way to the top of the chimney and began to use the chimney kit to break up and clear out the debris. The crew ensured the fire was contained only to the chimney prior to returning to service.
