Working Fire | Onondaga Lake Park | Liverpool

Late Tuesday morning, the Liverpool Fire Department was alerted to a lawn mower on fire at the Onondaga Lake Park. After the initial dispatch, Onondaga Emergency Communications received additional information reporting the fire has now spread to a bath house. The assignment was then upgraded to a building fire, adding additional units. Solvay Engine 11 responded and arrived second due, behind Liverpool Engine 1. While Liverpool Engine 1’s crew established a water supply and began an aggressive interior fire attack, Engine 11’s crew pulled a back up hose line and began assisting with suppressing the fire. Engine 11’s crew also gained entry into the building to further suppress the fire.

Units remained on the scene for approximately two hours ensuring the fire was out while conducting overhaul operations. Engine 11 returned to Solvay around noon. Companies operating on the scene included Liverpool, Moyers Corners, Solvay, Lakeside, and Baldwinsville.
